The Physics of Ancestor-Claiming: From “Charlemagne” to the “Three Sovereigns and Five Emperors”—A Pathological Comparison of Eastern and Western Totalitarian Machines

If you briefly flip through the history of modern nation-building, you will find a highly comical phenomenon: those modern states built on hatred always love to forcibly bind themselves to a “great” ancestor.

France and Prussia (Germany), in their struggle for European hegemony, ground each other’s young men into meat paste in the trenches, yet they both declared in unison that they were the sole legitimate heirs of “Charlemagne.” Even Russia, long despised by mainstream European circles, had to drag out “St. George” as its spiritual totem.

But to anyone who truly understands China’s two thousand years of history, this “ancestor-claiming” operation by the Europeans seems as naive as a child’s game.

After all, Europeans are still stuck at the stage of “finding a distant relative in human history.” Even the most arrogant French and Germans have not gone so far as to claim they are the direct descendants of “Zeus” or “Poseidon.”

In contrast, China’s bureaucratic machine is far more ferocious—casually claiming a human ancestor could never satisfy its thirst for legitimacy. To prove the absolute correctness of this colossal machine, it directly packaged the mythological creators (Nüwa) and the absolute origins of civilization (the Three Sovereigns and Five Emperors, the Yellow Emperor), forcibly registering them as the “first chairmen of the board” of this machine.

This is by no means a mere cultural difference, but a ruthlessly cold physical comparison of “the gravitational field of power and the hyperinflation of legitimacy.” In this comparison, we can clearly see the exact positions of Eastern and Western totalitarian machines on the “progress bar of systemic cancer.”

1. The “Event Horizon” of Power: Once Swallowed, It Can Never Be Regurgitated

European nation-states have only been operating for a few centuries, while China’s “Great Unification” bureaucratic machine has been running madly for over two thousand years since its establishment by Qin Shi Huang.

In astrophysics, when a star’s mass reaches a certain critical point, it collapses inward into a black hole, forming an “Event Horizon” around it—anything, even light, that crosses this boundary can never escape.

Qin Shi Huang’s “Great Unification” was the first “power black hole” created in human political history. He completely destroyed the pre-Qin social network—a multi-centered system full of physical friction and feudal protective responsibilities—and sucked all power, resources, and even thoughts into an absolutely centralized machine.

Power possesses a terrifying physical inertia. Once the system tastes the sweetness of absolute centralization, it can never “spit out” that power again. Any attempt to rebuild local protection or re-establish pluralistic resistance will be instantly torn apart by this central black hole. For two thousand years, regardless of dynastic changes, it has merely been a change of administrators for the black hole; its physical property of devouring everything has never changed.

2. The Hyperinflation of Legitimacy: Why Must “Nüwa” Be Dragged in to Endorse the System?

When a black hole has been continuously devouring for two thousand years, how massive a “credit endorsement” does it need to suppress the extreme physical pain and resistance accumulated within the system?

The answer is: Human-level ancestors are no longer sufficient; it must deploy universe-creation-level mythology.

This is exactly like an economy frantically printing money, which inevitably leads to hyperinflation. The European nation-state machines are still relatively young; the lies and oppression they manufacture are still within human comprehension. Therefore, they only need a hundred-dollar counterfeit bill like “Charlemagne” to barely maintain their internal cohesion fueled by hatred.

But the depth of evil and the energy extracted by this two-thousand-year-old Eastern machine are astronomical. To prove that stripping away everyone’s freedom and executing absolute rule is “a universal law,” it must maximize the level of its forgery.

Thus, mythology was forcibly stuffed into the political genealogy. The Three Sovereigns and Five Emperors, the Yellow Emperor, Nüwa—these totems that originally belonged to early humanity’s awe of nature—were forcibly transformed by this bureaucratic machine into unquestionable “certificates of political bloodline.” When mythology is reduced to a tool of power, it means the true history of this civilization has been thoroughly kneaded into a pile of high-entropy mud serving only the ruling power.

3. The West’s “Puberty” and the Abyss of the Future

Having seen through this two-thousand-year-old totalitarian black hole in the East, looking back at the West makes everything incomparably clear.

Europe didn’t claim Zeus as their ancestor not because they were more honest, but because their “Corporate Civilization machine” is still in its puberty. They only recently destroyed their social bedrock of pluralistic competition in the meat grinder of World War I. Their gravitational field of centralization has not yet reached the perverse level of the East.

But this by no means implies the West is safe. The laws of physics are fair to all humanity.

This comparison is, in fact, a brutally cold pathological warning: if the modern state machines of Europe and America continue to sprint down the path of “stripping away individual pain, absolutely centralizing power, and relying on hatred and fear to operate,” one day, they too will exhaust the symbolic value of “Charlemagne” and “liberal democracy.”

When the internal contradictions of modern states can no longer be suppressed, sooner or later, they will be forced—just like that ancient Eastern imperial machine—to fabricate even more massive and absurd ultimate lies.

Once the black hole of Great Unification takes shape, whether it wears an imperial dragon robe or a modern suit, the endgame of devouring human flesh and true responsibility is already predetermined by physics.
